In Vamptown, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Pru Daniels should know better than to hook up with sexy Simon Howell. He’s a vampire Demon Hunter and a former knight at King Arthur’s roundtable. She’s a witch, a descendant of Morgan Le Fay. Clearly things could get complicated.

When Simon shows up in Vamptown while Pru is visiting a friend and fellow witch, he claims to have come for the holidays to visit fellow vampire Demon Hunter Damon Thornheart. But things soon turn passionate as Pru and Simon join together to battle the forces of evil. The holidays won’t be the only thing ruined if Simon and Pru can’t work things out. Can this vampire Demon Hunter find his heart in time to save his love…and his immortality?

My Review

I love holiday books, and I especially love unusual holiday books. The Entity Who Came For Christmas has witches celebrating the Winter Solstice and gallivanting through snowy Chicago with vampire Demon Hunters over the Christmas holiday – can’t get much more unusual than that.

Oh wait, yes you can.

Pru, the female MC, is a descendant of Morgan Le Fay and Simon, her ex-lover/current-pain-in-her-butt, was one of King Arthur’s knights of the roundtable way back in the day and this connection plays a big role in the events of the book and the love story unfolding between the two.

The Entity Who Came For Christmas is set smack dab in the middle of the Entity series, between books 2 (The Entity Within) and 3 (Love Your Entity) – in fact the main characters from The Entity Within play supportive roles in the novella as Zoe (the MC from The Entity Within) is Pru’s best friend and Damon (Zoe’s boyfriend) was sired by Simon. Of course, going into this novella I didn’t know any of these things. Before this, I’d never read a single book in the Entity Series, but I was still able to enjoy the cast and setting without any previous knowledge about the characters and background stories from any of the other books in the series.

All in all, The Entity Who Came For Christmas was a fun, adventure-packed, unusual holiday novella dosed with humor and sizzling romance. Having read this little peek into the Entity universe, I can’t wait to read more.

In The Entity Who Came For Christmas, Pru is spending the Winter Solstice holiday with her friend Zoe and Zoe’s grandmother. As part of their holiday traditions, the three burn a Yule Log, on oak log covered with wishes written on colorful papers and tied with red and green ribbons (I’ve heard of a Yule Log, but never about the adding wishes thing – what a fun idea!), and drink Yule Nog, eggnog with rum. To go along with these wonderful traditions, I’m recommending Jackie’s Java Yule Nog – cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves gives the creamy flavored coffee a wonderful, warm eggnog taste that would fit right in with the festivities.
